The second studio album from the Norwegian extreme metal pioneers, featuring members of Arcturus, Thorns, Mayhem and 1349, will be released on July 3, 2026 through Peaceville Records.

Mørketid was recorded at Toproom Studio in Norway, engineered by Børge Finnstad and Kevin Kleiven. The album channels a cold, atmospheric and uncompromising approach rooted in the legacy of Norwegian extreme metal and shaped by decades of pioneering influence.

Mørketid delivers eight tracks of savage yet eerie and often epic black metal, elevated by the indomitable keyboard textures of Sverd, the unmistakable percussive force of Hellhammer, and the returning vicious snarls of vocalist Marius Vold.

The album merges raw Norwegian tension with a sharpened modern production ethos, moving between dissonant riff architecture, ritual pacing and bleak melodic undercurrents. Its release through Peaceville Records reinforces the label’s commitment to extreme metal heritage, situating Mørketid within a lineage of genre‑defining works
