Following their 2023 debut, Lumen ad Mortem return with a work of ferocious, melodic black metal that merges lightning‑fast tremolo aggression with atmospheric mid‑paced passages. A Grave Ascent channels nefarious melodies, malleable rhythm guitars, ominous synth layers and relentless percussion.
Lyrically, the album draws from the Australian wellspring of loss, death and the unbroken spirit, set within an ancient landscape where time and darkness dwarf human existence. Mixed by Patrick Pages Oliver at Blood Wolf Productions, the record delivers a sound that is raw, cold, emotional and perfectly balanced—a chilling blend of melodic ferocity and suffocating atmosphere.
